About Chris

 Christopher Coutu is dedicated to serving his country, community and the citizens of Connecticut.

Raised in Norwich, Chris graduated from Norwich Tech with an HVAC certification in 1994. Chris is a Air Force veteran, who served on active duty from 1995 to 1998. After 15 years of honorable service he continues to serve as an Officer in the Army National Guard. On September 11th 2001, Chris was deployed in Kuwait for Operation Southern Watch.

Chris holds a graduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Hartford. Like so many Americans, he juggled part time jobs to support his education. Chris is proud to be the first member of his family to complete a college degree.

Chris worked for the family’s trucking and commercial fishing operations from 2003 to 2006. One of the more memorable experiences was working on a commercial fishing boat in the Atlantic Ocean.

From 2004 to 2006, Chris worked within the Civilian Personnel Management Services in Arlington, Virginia. During this two-year period he worked side-by-side with union members and management from 30 regions throughout the United States.

In 2006, Chris established AmericanWarrior.us. This volunteer-run non-profit organization supports Veterans and patriotic operations.

Chris works in the financial industry and has taught as an Adjunct Professor of Finance. Chris is a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, DAV, American Legion, Sacred Heart Church, Taftville Volunteer Fire Deptartment, AHEPA and the Lions. He also served on multiple committees as a Norwich Alderman.

Chris Coutu’s commitment to his country, community and veterans earned him the Outstanding Volunteer and Humanitarian medals from the Air Force. Coutu has received the University of Hartford’s Humanitarian Award as well the Connecticut American Legion’s highest honor: the Americanism Award.
